A slip costs you one cigarette. Not three months of progress.
Quit21 keeps a running total of the cigarettes you haven't smoked and the money you've kept. Log a slip honestly and it subtracts one cigarette, not your history.
Android first, then iOS
- Day 1 Quit 20 €5.40
- Day 7 First week 140 €37.80
- Day 35 Slip logged: 2 cigarettes, −€0.54 698 €188.46
- Day 36 Carried on 718 €193.86
- …
saved by day 90 — 1,798 cigarettes not smoked
A streak counter would show 55 here, and would have shown 0 on day 35.
One number, and it only goes one way
When a craving hits, you open the app and see the figure that matters: what you've saved so far. That's the whole mechanism. People who quit with a tracker describe it the same way every time — one glance, then the phone goes back in the pocket.
So the money sits at the top of the screen, at full size, from the first day. Everything else is quieter.
Honest about slips, because the alternative is lying
Most trackers do one of two things when you smoke. They reset your counter to zero, or they leave it untouched and pretend nothing happened. Quit21 does neither.
Your streak resets — it's a streak, that's what it measures. Your total, your money and your milestones don't, and the app says so in plain words the moment you log it.
Already quit? Start from the day you actually stopped.
Enter the date you gave up, however far back it is. Quit21 works out what you haven't smoked since then and what it saved you, and shows you the full total on the first screen — not day one of a programme you finished years ago.
Past that point the app gets quieter by design: no daily prompts, just the number, and milestones as they come.
what a pack a day at €5.40 comes to over three years — the kind of figure someone who quit in 2023 sees the first time they open the app.
Cigarettes and vapes are not the same thing
Vaping doesn't produce carbon monoxide or tar, so Quit21 never tells someone who has quit vaping that their carbon monoxide levels have normalised. The two have separate milestones, separate content and separate arithmetic.
There is also no invented conversion between them. Nobody is told that a pod equals a certain number of cigarettes, because no honest number exists for that.
Money you can check
The app shows how the figure is calculated, in a line under the figure: what you told it you smoked, what you told it a pack costs, and how long it's been. Pick your currency once and it stays.
You can save a copy of your data whenever you want, and keep it wherever you keep files.

Questions
What happens in Quit21 if I smoke a cigarette?
You log it, and the running total subtracts the cigarettes you actually smoked — one cigarette costs you one cigarette. Your current streak resets to zero, because that is what a streak measures. The total number of cigarettes avoided, the money saved and every milestone already earned stay unchanged, and the app confirms that on screen at the moment you log it.
Can I use Quit21 if I quit smoking a long time ago?
Yes. You enter the date you actually stopped, however far back it is, and Quit21 calculates and displays the whole total straight away. If the date is beyond the first few weeks, the app skips the daily programme and settles into a slower rhythm with no daily notifications.
Does Quit21 work for vaping as well as smoking?
Yes. You choose cigarettes or vaping when you set it up, and the app uses separate arithmetic and separate health milestones for each. Claims about carbon monoxide, tar and cilia are never shown to someone quitting vaping, and Quit21 does not convert vaping into a "cigarette equivalent", because no honest conversion exists.
How does Quit21 calculate the money saved?
From what you tell it: how much you smoked a day, what a pack costs, and how long it has been since you quit, minus anything you have logged as smoked. The figure is shown alongside the numbers it was calculated from, so it can be checked. Currency is chosen during setup and is separate from the app's language.
Does Quit21 cost anything?
No. It is free, there is no subscription, and no feature is reserved for a paid version. There is no paid tier at all, so nothing can be taken away mid-quit.
Does Quit21 need an account or an internet connection?
No. There is no sign-up, no login and no server. All data stays on the phone, and you can save a copy of it yourself at any time.
When will Quit21 be available?
It is still in development. Android will be released first on Google Play, with an iOS version on the App Store afterwards. No release date has been announced.
